Accredited practicing dietitians are regulated, allied health professionals recognised by Medicare and private health insurers in Australia.

Dietitians must be university qualified and registered by Dietitians Australia if they want to offer Medicare rebates to their clients.

Nutritionists may or may not be university qualified or registered with Nutrition Australia.

Qualifications and skills are what make our services at Firefly Nutrition high quality and great value.

You may be eligible for a Medicare Rebate if you have an Extended Care Plan or GP Management Plan. Your GP is the best point of contact for eligibility. You can find out some more information here.

You may be eligible for Private Health Insurance rebates from your Insurer if you have Dietetic Consults in your extras policy. Contact your provider for more information.

This depends on your needs. As a general rule, I would encourage a minimum of 4-6 sessions to get the most out of coaching. This is why I offer a multipack discount.

The short answer is no! You are the expert and the boss of what you choose to eat.

The more complex answer is together, we can come up with ideas that both appeal to you and support your health goals.

Like in any other health field, you will click with some practitioners and not with others. If you haven‘t had a great experience with a Dietitian but know you need more support, I encourage you to try again. If we are not a great fit to work together, I have an excellent web of colleagues I can refer you to.

Health Coaching is not regulated in Australia currently. That means anyone can call themselves and practice as a health coach. I have worked as a Health Coach in my own and other businesses for over five years. As an Accredited Practicing Dietitian & Nutritionist, I am regulated by my professional organisation, Dietitians Australia.
